PROJECT UPDATE 9/10/2018 - STREET PAVING

The contractor is scheduled for the first lift of paving on Tuesday, September 11th. Cars cannot be parked on the street during this work - please have all cars off street prior to 7:00 am on Tuesday, September 11th. More information in this notice including parking and driveway information.

PROJECT UPDATE 8/31/2018 - PAVING DELAYED

The plan for paving the first lift needed to be pushed back due to soil tests showing soil is not ready for asphalt to be placed. Peterson Companies plans to get the soils compacted the week of September 4th and will get the asphalt placed as soon as they can. This is weather dependent. More information in mailed notice here.

PROJECT UPDATE 8/24/2018 - CONCRETE WORK DELAYED DUE TO WEATHER

Due to the inclement weather the installation of concrete curb has been pushed back to Monday, August 27th. This once again will be dependent on weather and updates will be available in this space. Please have your vehicles moved before 7:00 am on Monday morning. More information in this notice.

PROJECT UPDATE 8/22/2018

The contractor will be performing final tolerances in the areas where the new curb will be placed this week with anticipation of curb and driveways to be on Friday 8/24 and Monday 8/27. More information can be found in the mailed notice here.

PROJECT UPDATE 8/17/2018

Soil correction has been largely completed, and the roadway should be much more easily passable going forward.  Please let us know if you or others are having difficulty traveling to your home.  The contractor will be performing finished grading at the end of next week, and concrete curbing and concrete driveway installations are expected to start next Thursday, 8/23/18

More information in mailed notice here.

PROJECT UPDATE 8/10/2018

The Craigbrook Way subgrade did not meet specified testing requirements. Of the two options for corrective action, the contractor elected to “farm” the roadway in an effort to dry out the soils. Unfortunately, this option has not produced the desired results in an acceptable timeframe.

To ensure the roadway is reconstructed to perform with longevity, it is important the subgrade meet set specifications. After recent additional testing of the soils, the City has directed the contractor to excavate localized areas of the poor subgrade and import more suitable materials. The contractor will begin this work Monday, August 13th.

Upon completion of the soil corrections and passing the roll test, construction will be carried out as previously planned. Milestones include the following:

  • Final grading of Alden Way and Craigbrook Way
  • Concrete Curb and Gutter for Alden Way and Craigbrook Way
  • Asphalt paving (2 lifts) of Alden Way and Craigbrook Way
  • Restoration (Driveways, grass sodding, and landscaping)

PROJECT UPDATE 7/11/2018

The contractor will be finishing up sanitary sewer main installation as well as water and sewer services and then will pick up work on the 60" storm sewer pipe, work will continue into next week.
