City Manager's Office

The City Manager is the administrative head of the City who oversees the functions of all departments and is the primary liaison between the City Council and City staff.

The City Manager's department is responsible for human resources, labor relations, communications, and general government administration. The department prepares the agendas for City Council meetings and conference meetings and prepares the minutes from City Council meetings.

The City Clerk's Division is also within this department and handles elections, business licensing and records.

The department publishes the bi-monthly city newsletter and is responsible
for providing local cable television programming which includes daily broadcasts of City Council meetings, commission meetings, Fridley news and other community-oriented programming.
  1. City Clerk

    The City Clerk Division is responsible for maintaining the city's official records, the City Code and the City Charter. This division coordinates, organizes and maintains the city's central records system, administers local, state and federal elections, and administers the issuance and renewal of business licenses within the city.

  2. Human Resources

    Thank you for your interest in working for the City of Fridley. Fridley employs approximately 135 full-time employees and 200 seasonal workers for recreation, maintenance positions and paid on-call firefighters.

  3. City Council

    The City of Fridley has a Council-Manager form of government in which the City Council sets the policies for the operation of the city, and the day-to-day administrative responsibility rests with the City Manager. Fridley City Council consists 5 elected members who welcome your input and involvement.

  4. Communications

    The Communications Division is responsible for Fridley's government television and public access channels and the city's bi-monthly newsletter, Community Connection. Fridley Cable 17 produces over 100 programs per year to highlight community events, government programs and city meetings.
