Did you know it's estimated that 4 out of 5 car seats are installed incorrectly?

It is the law to have your child in a child safety seat until the age of four. In addition, a child who is BOTH under age 8 and shorter than 4'9 must be fastened in a child safety booster seat that meets federal safety standards. We recommend keeping a child in a booster seat based on their height rather than their age.

A booster seat raises the child's seated height which allows the belt system to comfortably and safely rest across their body. A properly installed car seat or restraint is your child's best defense against being seriously hurt in a crash or sudden stop.

The Anoka County SAFE Kids Coalition offers FREE car seat inspections at monthly clinics (10 per year) throughout Anoka County. Clinics are by appointment only.

To inquire about the next monthly clinic, please contact the Fridley Police Crime Prevention/Youth Specialist at 763-572-3626. For more information, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
