The City of Fridley and Minnesota Department of Transportation will be hosting four workshops to gather public input on improvements for Highway 65 and University Avenue in Fridley.
The City of Fridley and Minnesota Department of Transportation invites you to an important conversation to guide the future design of University Avenue and Highway 65. We want your input on the community's goals and priorities from a livability and transportation standpoint, aesthetics for our city, corridor design for businesses and more. This will be a series of four workshops taking place at the Fridley Civic Center from 6-8 p.m. on February 21, March 7 and 21, and April 4. The first workshop will be focused on gathering information to learn what is important and unique about each of the roadways, concerns about mobility and aesthetics, and possible improvements. The second will include a block exercise to explore options and variations for development in the area. Options from the previous workshop will be reviewed in the third session and a panel discussion with design experts and representatives from other cities who have tested similar options will speak and answer questions. The final session will have attendees help develop the final document that will be presented to city council and other advisory boards.
