Submitting A Plan For Review

Commercial

Plans must be submitted for all commercial construction in the City of Fridley whether it is a new building, an addition to an existing building or just a remodel of an existing building. Four complete sets of building plans must be submitted to the Building Inspection Division prior to the issuance of any permits. These plans will be reviewed by the Building, Fire, Engineering, and Planning Departments. Anoka County Health Department approval is also needed on any food service alterations or occupancy.

Site plan, landscape plans, and a performance bond must also be approved prior to issuance of a building permit for commercial projects.

  • Review Schedule - Normal commercial plan review takes seven to 10 working days and one set of approved documents will be returned to the applicant. Questions involving commercial plan review may be directed to the Building Inspection Division at (763) 572-3604.
  • Fees Administered - A plan review fee may be required when the plans are submitted for review. This plan check fee, if not required to be paid when the plans are submitted, will be due when the permit is issued.
