Fridley Police badge

On Sunday December 13, 2015 at 5:20 PM Fridley Police responded to Target located at 755 53rd Avenue NE on a report of a shot fired inside the store. Press Release

Once on scene officers learned the suspect who fired the shot had left in a small dark colored passenger vehicle. Police searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect. The police investigation revealed that a male and female had entered the store and were at the cash register paying for their items which were small snack types items and soda. The suspects engaged the clerk in conversation which included the fact that they were on a 12-15 hour long road trip in their vehicle. During the checkout process the male began to make an adjustment to his left ankle area of his leg. While he was making that adjustment a shot was fired from his left ankle area. The shot struck the floor of the store. The suspects then ran out of the store and left in a vehicle. The male appeared to be limping as they left the store. There was no blood at the scene to indicate the suspect was struck with the bullet. No bystanders were injured in the incident. Fridley Police continue to investigate this incident and are seeking to identify the people involved. We ask anyone with information to call Fridley Police at 763-572-3629.
