On the morning of October 22, 2016, Fridley Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of Gardena Ave NE. Officers were responding to a report of a home invasion involving a weapon. The suspect was seen standing in the living room holding a weapon and demanding money. The victim screamed for help and the suspect then fled on foot through the kitchen door. Residents in the home were not harmed.
Fridely Police Officers pursued the suspect with the assistance of K9 units and neighboring departments. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a tall, black male with curly hair, who is 20 to 30 years old. The suspect was wearing black clothing with a colored scarf at the time of the incident.
The Fridley Police Department is actively investigating this crime. No arrests have been made in this case. If you have any information that may lead to the arrest of the individual(s) involved, please dial 9-1-1 and ask to speak with a Fridley Police Officer.
