The Anoka County Sheriff's Office has issued the following press release in regards to an active murder investigation in Fridley.
On July 17, 2017 at 0112 hrs, Officers from the Fridley Police Department were dispatched to a call of a "male not breathing" on the side of the road in the 7600 block of Meadowmoor Drive NE. Upon the arrival of the Fridley Officers, they discovered a male who was determined to be deceased. The death is being investigated as a murder.
The decedent is a 17-year-old male who lives in the city of Fridley. The manner of death indicates foul play. The identity of the victim will not be released now pending notification of relatives.
This is still a very active investigation that is in its beginning stages. There is very little information that we will be releasing at this point, but there will be updates as events warrant.
The case is under the investigation of the Fridley Police Department, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
